Ministry Purpose - Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a worship experience for children that takes place during a regularly scheduled 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sundays. Volunteers are needed to lead this ministry and prepare a short 20 minute lesson each week.  (We have temporarily suspended Sunday School and Children's Liturgy as we are looking for volunteer assistance. Responsibilities

• Use materials provided to make the children’s experience of church meaningful, while helping them to grow in the faith of the Catholic Church and develop as full and active members of our Parish Community.
• Enrich discussion with children on the Gospel with discussion, prayers, songs, and role-playing.
• Raise awareness of God’s love, the humanity of Jesus, the Seasons of the Church, the understanding of symbols in the Mass, and the context of the Bible.

Time Commitment

• Ideally once or twice a month depending on the number of volunteers.
• Prep time prior to Mass to prepare the lesson is about one hour, in addition to the time during the Mass itself.

Qualifications

• No experience is required.
• Completed the abuse prevention training and background check required.
