RCIA is a program for people who are interested in joining the Catholic Church. The RCIA process includes time for prayer, reflection, study, formation and fellowship. All are invited to join the faith journey of the adult catechumenate and explore the Roman Catholic Church and its traditions. Contact: Judi Duffy; judiduffy@msn.com This journey has several stages:
1. Period of Pre-Catechumenate (Inquiry) - A time for initial exploration and discernment about one’s relationship with God and the Catholic faith; people will participate in the Rite of Welcome and advance through the following stages.
2. Period of Catechumenate - A time for continued spiritual formation, discernment and growth in one’s relationship with God and more intense study of the Catholic faith.
3. Period of Purification and Enlightenment-A time for focusing more on interior reflection than instruction. We purify our hearts and minds to celebrate the Easter mysteries and receive the Sacraments of Initiation.
4. Period of Mystagogia (Deeping of Faith) - This period lasts for the entire Easter Season and in fact continues for the rest of one’s life! The newly-initiated Catholics reflect on their experience of the Sacraments they have received as they continue to deepen their reflection and study of the mystery of God and their faith.
